Overview The town of Pavilion is in the southeast corner of Genesee County, bordering Wyoming County to the south, Livingston County to the east, the towns of LeRoy and Stafford to the north, and Bethany to the west. The Oatka Creek flows through the center of town, and most early settlers took advantage of the creek to set up mills and farm the fertile land. Farming is still big business in town, mostly big farms with hundreds of acres. Pavilion still has a few small dairy farms, too, and a small business district. Batavia is only 12 miles northwest of Pavilion. The Pavilion Central School District serves town residents. Local Museums/Landmarks Genesee Country Village & Museum, a “living history” museum with historical re-enactors, is a quick 14-mile drive to the northeast in Mumford.

Essentials Pavilion’s small business district includes a bank, a bakery, a coffee shop, an auto-parts store and a pizza place. Everything else you need is a quick drive away. For groceries, there’s a Top’s Friendly Markets in LeRoy and another in Batavia. For retail, Batavia has stores like Walmart, KMart, Sears and Target. Both towns have plenty of places to eat. Batavia, the county seat and cultural center, also is where you’ll find United Memorial Medical Center, the regional hospital that serves the area. The Pavilion Central School District has two schools. Pavilion has its own library, the Pavilion Public Library, at 5 Woodrow Drive. The Pavilion Post Office is at 11142 Lake St.

Rolling Hills Asylum in Bethany, which claims to be haunted and conducts ghost tours and has “Fright Night” movies, is a quick drive west. Batavia, just 12 miles away, has a wide variety of recreation options, like Batavia Downs Casino and Racetrack and the Batavia Muckdogs baseball team. Several golf courses are nearby, like Stafford Country Club and Sweetland Pines in Stafford, Bethany Hills in Bethany, LeRoy Country Club in LeRoy, and several in Batavia. Letchworth State Park is only 20 miles south of Pavilion, and Darien Lakes Theme Park, the largest theme park in New York state, is only 20 miles west. Genesee County Park and Forest is just 8 miles west
